Come
dance to the hot jazz played by Ann Arbor favorites, Phil Ogilvie's
Rhythm Kings with Music Director James Dapogny. The evening will
include a floor show of period dancing by the Pleasant Moments
Vintage Dancers, light refreshments (non-alcoholic), and plenty
of dancing!
Phil Ogilvie's Rhythm Kings
is a ten-piece, acoustic, 1920s and '30s-style hot jazz and dance
orchestra. Dances will include the fox trot, blues, tango and
Charleston. Cathy Stephens will lead a workshop in the afternoon
that will get you ready to participate in the evening's dancing.
Period
attire from the 1920s or 1930s is encouraged but not required.

at the door. Tickets are general admission; seating is available
on a first-come, first-served basis, unless you reserve an entire
table of 8-10 people.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I come without a partner?
Yes. Singles are welcome.
Is this a concert?
No, this is a dance. However, you are welcome to come and listen
to the music, whether you dance or not. The admission price is
the same.
What kind of dancing will there be?
Dances will include the fox trot, blues, tango, and Charleston.
What if I don't know how to dance to this music?
A workshop in the afternoon will get you ready to participate
in the evening's dancing. The workshop is included in the price
of the ball.
Can I come to the workshop but not the ball?
The workshop is intended for people who will be attending the
ball.
