The
year 2012 marks the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.
Rather than dwell on the disaster, we will honor some true heroes:
the musicians of the White Star Orchestra who kept playing
right
to the end.
The Titanic musicians played
some of the most popular music of their day. Join us as we celebrate
their work and times by dancing and listening to that wonderful
music! Dances will include the one step, waltz, tango, and novelty
dances from the 1912 era. Music will be provided by the Huron
Valley Serenaders.
All levels of dancers are
welcome. Be sure to attend the pre-ball workshops in the afternoon
to get ready to enjoy the evening.
We encourage you to come in period
dress (early 1900s), or dress as
your favorite character from the Titanic film. Preregistration
is preferred.
